Vehicle Summary  The Ram 3500 Heavy Duty sits atop the automaker's consumer pedestrian trucks above the Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 HD and below the Ram Chassis Cab 3500 HD, 4500 HD, and 5500 HD models.  Overview  Three engines are available for the Ram 3500 HD pickup including two gas engines and one turbodiesel engine. The base engine is a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 making 383 hp at 5,600 rpm and 400 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. An available 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 produces 410 hp at 5,600 rpm and 429 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm. Both engines are backed by a 66RFE six-speed automatic transmission.  For heavy-duty towing chores, Ram offers the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six-cylinder engine with a choice of power levels and transmission choices. Power with the six-speed manual transmission is rated 350 hp at 2,800 rpm at 2,800 rpm and 660 lb-ft at 1,500 rpm. When mated to the Aisin AS69RC six-speed automatic transmission, the Cummins turbodiesel cranks out 385 hp at 2,800 rpm and 900 lb-ft at 1,700 rpm.  Depending on body style and options, max payload for the Ram 3500 HD is 7,390 pounds, and max towing is 31,210 pounds.  Rear-wheel-drive is standard and four-wheel-drive is available on all four body styles, which include Regular Cab long bed, Crew Cab short bed, Crew Cab long bed, and Mega Cab short bed. Single or dual rear wheels are available. Five trim levels are available for the 3500 HD including Tradesman, SLT, Big Horn, Laramie, and Laramie Longhorn.  Safety  Safety features include front, side and side curtain airbags, rearview camera and rear parking sensors, and speed control.
