Owning an example of any new generation of Corvette brings with it a sense of pride and excitement. Each generation has its own kind of personality and charisma to it, and this 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z-L1 3LT Convertible is no exception. The inaugural year for the new LS3 V-8, this one-owner C6 comes to us with in exceptional condition and decked out in its original Black paint. With its black convertible top up or down, this 3LT allows its driver and passenger to enjoy the luxurious side of Chevy's iconic halo car. Inside, we find a decadent Black leather interior featuring dual power and heated bucket seats that provide lumbar support. Thanks to the available Memory Package, the vehicle remembers settings for the driver's seat, mirrors, and steering wheel column angle. Just ahead of the power-telescoping steering wheel sits a six-pod gauge cluster, highlighted by a large 7,000 rpm tachometer and a matching 200 mph speedometer, both flanked by two auxiliary gauges on either side. If you don't want to take your eyes off the road, then the Heads-Up Display will come in handy. Add to that the built-in navigation system, power everything, and a premium seven-speaker AM/FM/CD Bose stereo, and you have a sports car that is ready to cruise comfortably for as long as you are. Under that signature front-hinged hood, we find a numbers-matching 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 engine. From the factory, the (then) new LS3 equipped with the Z51 sport exhaust produced an impressive 436 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 36 hp and 28 lb-ft over the previous LS2. That power is routed through a rear-mounted six-speed automatic transmission before the 2.73-geared transaxle transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of black powder-coated 19-inch factory wheels shod in big 285/35ZR-19 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires tackle the tarmac. Up front, a staggered set of 18-inch wheels wrapped in 245/40ZR-18 rubber benefit from an upgraded Magnasteer variable-effort rack-and-pinion, improving on-center feel, precision, and feedback over the previous setup. This 2008 Chevrolet Corvette 3LT rides on a double wishbone independent suspension with transverse composite springs and shocks at all four corners. Four-wheel power disc brakes featuring 12.8-inch rotors up front and 12.0-inch units in back combine with ABS to provide plenty of confidence that this 'Vette can scrub off speed at a moment's notice. Braking capabilities have been enhanced with the addition of drilled disc brake rotors on all four corners.
