Upon purchasing this 996 in 2017 we put nearly $10k into it to create a perfect grand tourer.  Koni FSD frequency-sensing shocks adjust the damping according to the road surface - smoothing out the bumpy roads of Michigan.  $3k Italian Tubi Exhaust purchased from Champion Motorsports Florida sounds sublime.  $600 upgraded shift mechanism for more precise shifts from the 6-speed transmission.  Carbon/Alcantara wheel sourced from Germany and various full carbon trim pieces. Stainless brake lines. The engine was replaced by Porsche in 2005 at ~22k miles with a factory exchange unitconfirmed by the engine number (M96/04 AT), where AT denotes a Porsche Austausch (factory replacement) engine, not a rebuild - it only has 28k on it. This replacement engine includes the updated large, non-serviceable IMS bearing design. We've never had it into the shop for any engine-related issues. Oil changes every 4k with Liqui-Moly products. An extremely solid car. We are friendly with the original owner who stored it in his office space! So indoors for much of its life and the materials which normally age over time are in great condition.  He recently gifted us with the original OEM gray floor mats which have never been used.
